Business and personal practices that demonstrate professionalism are discussed. We cultivate capacity to feel and communicate body sensations as we increase our somatic literacy. This course includes a deeper dive into the science of somatic sex education\, interpersonal neurobiology\, and the methodology of communal erotic practices. \n\n\n\n\n\nStudents practice intake and assessment\, ethical frameworks for somatic sex education\, mindful erotic practice\, masturbation witnessing and coaching\, genital anatomy and genital mapping\, plus sensual and erotic massage. All activities are done through the lens of empowering choice and voice. \n\n\n\n\n\nStudents will expand their embodied understanding of social locationality. They will learn about how we somatize oppression and privilege\, and practice somatic technologies for unwinding it all. DESCRIPTION:SAR (Sexual Attitude Reassessment): Building Competence\n3½ days | Cost: $625 for participant or $575 for existing Opt members \n\nThis program uses the Sexual Attitudes Reassessment (SAR) process and is based on the program developed by the Institute for the Advanced Study of Human Sexuality.\nApplicants to Opt’s Sexual Health Educator Certification must complete or be registered for a SAR before applying. Completion of Opt’s SAR workshop fulfills this requirement.\nTopics covered include: fantasy\, masturbation\, LGBTQ+\, non-monogomy\, sex work\, gender\, BDSM\, disability\, and aging.\nActivities involved: using an intensive workshop experience\, participants evaluate their own values\, beliefs\, and attitudes on various sexuality issues.\nOutcomes: by becoming increasingly aware of their perceptions\, beliefs\, values\, and feelings\, participants become comfortable with the wide variation of existing sexual attitudes\, behaviours\, and practices. DESCRIPTION:What is intimacy? How does it affect our lives? Is it inviting or terrifying? In this full day class\, we will have open discussions and embodied exercises to clarify what it means to have intimacy with ourselves and others. We will distinguish the differences between sexual expression and intimacy. We will explore the history that we hold in our minds and bodies about who we are and the obstacles of identity that block intimacy in our lives. By facilitating experiences that involve non sexual interaction\, we will still get to a deeper understanding of what challenges us and what excites us about feeling connected to ourselves and others. \nWe will practice presencing skills\, and respecting people within their boundaries.
