February 10 @ 1:00 pm - February 13 @ 4:00 pm

haven-heron-field-to-ocean_cindy_2016may
The Sexual Attitude Reassessment program (SAR) is a cutting edge intense learning event designed for people who wish to better understand their own sexuality and that of others. It is a program dedicated to fulfilling the need for advanced training in human sexuality. Didactic and experiential, SAR offers each person the information and experience necessary for more competent, sensitive, professional and personal functioning. Over the years, more than 2,500 persons have experienced the Sexual Attitude Restructuring Program. Among those who have found SAR of great value both personally and professionally are physicians, psychologists, psychiatrists, sexologists, therapists, counsellors, teachers, college professors, nurses, clergy, researchers, social workers, health educators, persons working in sexual health centres, and students in all of the above areas.  OF course this training is also for people who wish to expand their own possibilities around sex in their own lives. The Sexual Attitude Restructuring program will present on a broad range of sexual topics through:
  • small and large group discussions
  • sexually explicit visual media: films and slide shows
  • exercises (body-based, talk-based & art-based)
  • journalling
  • self reflection
  • connection to nature
All activities are optional, as we recognize that a practice of saying “no,” or “I have changed my mind” is a central practice to our sexual liberation This workshop/training is not class that teaches you intellectual information about sex and sexual function.  This training is non- hands on. The organizers acknowledge that this training takes place on land taken without consent from the Snuneymuxw First Nation. We are learning that consent work is much broader than interpersonal relations around sex. We are practicing, flailing and failing and trying again at making consent practice a part of our everyday lives as acts of decolonization,  healing and care.
